It’s Sunday, 2/24/08 and it’s windy. REALLY windy!
I’m not going out until dinner tonight with Petar and Ayaka. I love having excuses for being pent up and doing nothing. Payday is tomorrow, and it’s insanely windy. Those are decent enough reasons to stay in my pajamas and play chess and write about Hilary Clinton and iTunes smart playlists all f’ing day.
After clearing my inbox, answering a comment on the Hilary post from my good friend Kenley, and reorganizing and geotagging my entire Flickr account I am still bored and needing to fill my productivity hole.
A note about Flickr geotags, you can now click Map on the navigation bar near my user name and see all of the photos I’ve taken in their location. It’s nice because I really feel like I’ve seen a lot of Japan so far.
I’m trying to find something to keep the journal entries interesting, and so far I’ve been adding images to each post. It’s been a bit difficult, and sometimes a bit boring to post something random that has nothing to do with the post. I try to make or take them myself, or at least have public domain images (Louis Riel day for example) but I’ve been struggling on those days that aren’t really about anything in particular. I thought of things I could take a picture of every day, considered taking a picture of my face every day, but that’s a lot of work and sometimes I really feel/look like ass and don’t want to take photos of myself.
I thought of something today that might be interesting in terms of documentation, or archiving my time. The idea is to take pictures of the things I use for that particular day, and the best way to do that is to photograph things that I have put in to my bag, or my pockets. I’ll be calling it ‘contents’ and there will be a set made on the flickr. I think it should be interesting to see the junk that I use daily and how they might change. This might also make me a bit more conscious of not forgetting things.
See? Another example of how living publicly makes you a better person… more on that later.
I’m currently listening to Belle and Sebastian and about to head out to Garuda, the greatest Indian restaurant in all of Japan, mostly because I’m able to make sure I get something vegetarian there.
