It is Phriday 3.7.2008 and it’s sunny and still cold.
It’s settled (Thanks for the title Scott!). Today, after an hour of reading Rockmore, I stopped in at the Family Mart and muffled my way through handing out the dreaded promotional pamphlets from my work. As stated in the last time we touched on this subject, the only information I could find was geared toward existing students’ families, recruiting their brothers or sisters. It worked out well, and although we still engaged in a slight misunderstood back and forth, she was just very grateful, and I just felt bad because I have no idea what she actually wants. I’m going to not worry about it, and just enjoy the fact that I can return to Family Mart without hesitation.
Woke up fairly early after a night of very little sleep. Today is an office day, and I had breakfast by 10am and finished Rockmore’s Marx After Marxism. It’s probably been some of the best philosophy I’ve read for a long time. I thought I was going to Fujinomiya to teach, but in fact it was Fujieda. Thank god, because Fujinomiya is about 2 transfers and another hour away. It was good that I double checked my schedule.
I met Brandis at the station, and we taught our classes and headed home. I’m back in Hamamatsu and I’m really tired. It’s unfortunately another underwhelming Phriday. I promise they’ll get better once it gets warmer. My father will be coming soon, the cherry blossoms are coming, and also Golden Week, and the Hamamatsu Kite Festival, all within the next few months. I’m pretty exhausted and really can’t wait to fall in to my futon and not be typing anymore. Sorry…
