It is Phriday, 3.28.2008 and it’s sunny.
I woke up late to a phone call from my Mom, it was nice to chat with her a bit, I feel bad that I don’t spend more time trying to get in touch with her. Dad and I got up and went for a Royal Host breakfast. I think in their hurriedness (they were quite busy) they served me bacon and sausage with my pancake set. Although I felt pretty hurt, they still gave me two syrups, so it was probably just that they were too busy. I didn’t bother bringing it to their attention… but maybe I should have? Maybe it was a test to see if I actually cared enough and appreciated their service that I should have brought it up? Maybe they’re testing my abilities… One thing is for sure, I will now be stepping lightly and watching my back in that place… ;)
Dad left me some things to do for him, mail postcards and burn pictures on CDs. He left around 11am to Tokyo for the day. Yesterday, going through Tokyo to Niigata he noticed the blooming Cherry Blossoms and decided that he’d better get a sense of them in the Imperial Park. I’ll put some of his photos up on my Flickr later from Niigata and Tokyo. I’ve not been to that side of Japan yet, I wonder why it’s so much less populated than the southern coast?
I checked on prices for a new lens I’m looking to buy, the Sigma 10-20mm. It looks amazing, and I think will really suit me for what I need. Dad and Betty (Step-Mom) have given me some money for graduating last year, and I’m to purchase something I can say is from them. This is a good choice I think. I went to Hamamatsu castle when I finished up at my local camera shop and the Sakura were already beginning to bloom. There were several families with tarps out enjoying the afternoon sun and a picnic. It’s really a wonderful atmosphere this time of year, where people are coming out to see the pink in bloom. It’s almost inexplicable how awesome it is to see, and my pictures for this Phriday doesn’t do it justice in the slightest.
I’m, however, too tired to post them. I taught one of my busiest days of the month, and Dad and I went out for his last dinner in Japan. We packed some of his things and I’m not just burning him an iDVD to show the fam at home. I’m about to crash out as soon as it’s finished.
I listen to too much Tegan and Sara, but I love them more every time.
