Dad Leaves, Incoming Germans

It is 3.29.2008 and it’s windy.

I woke up this morning with my Dad, he had packed the previous night and was pretty much all set to go. He gave me some cash to buy something nice with and we went to our last Royal Host breakfast together. His favourite part of Japan was hanging out in Tokyo, just because it’s such a metropolis and infinitely huge and complex.

He caught the 11:00 Hikari to Tokyo using his final day on his JR pass. I saw him off at the station then headed downtown to order my Sigma 10-20mm lens. I’m pretty excited about it, but nervous that I couldn’t think of anything else to purchase. It was about noon when I strolled back to the station and hit up my favourite soba shop before going to work for the day.

My four classes felt longer than usual today, mostly because I had a 6 day work-week, but once it was over I cleaned up, did my faxing for the night and headed home to relax. I checked my email on the train ride back and Chris unt Gorden (hereon after known as the Germans) had let me know they were kicked out of their hostel and would be coming in to Ham to stay the rest of the week.

I’m on the train home now wondering how I’m going to stay awake the next 10 days with these guys partying so terribly hard, and how I’ll keep sane with their utterly rampant spontaneity. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m not the wildest kid in the neighbourhood.

I’ve also heard today that Jeannine will be coming for almost a 3 week visit at the beginning of Golden Week (of which I have off entirely) and I’m insanely excited.
