It’s Saturday, 4.12.08 and it’s humid, partially sunny but it looked like rain so of course I wore my fucking jacket.
I’m sure that someone more technically competent can tell me otherwise, but do you ever get the feeling like you just need to do a fresh install of your operating system? Like, everything is just in so many different places, and it’s unorganized and I can find stuff if I absolutely need to, but it’s a lot of work, and I’d rather read twitter or my flickr comments? I must be able to have more space… I go looking, and yes, sure enough I have forgotten to delete Ken Burn’s The War PBS documentary that has been hiding in some obscure place in some obscure folder. I should really have done things differently from the start, but I say that for every fresh install on every computer for every OS I’ve ever worked on.
I think part of it is Apple’s apps. I’ve got iTunes pretty much figured out to only run off of my external harddrive, but things like iPhoto are still driving me nuts. I have to delete endless duplicates, and scrounge in odd places if I’m to use iPhoto at all (and I only use it for making iDVD’s or using iMovie really). Anyway, this is been crawling around in my brain for a few days, the stagnant feeling of bloated computer-ness.
Also, I’m a bit sick of waiting for k2 to update their theme to wp2.5 and I’m thinking I should look for a new theme altogether anyway. I like this simple-ness, but it’s just not conducive to the kind of thing I’d like people to see. Looking at CitizenReporter.org, I really like the amount of immediate interactivity it has, however I’m worried that with the 3 columns, it takes too much away from the content. I know jack about web-design.
Woke up really late. Played chess with Lee for a good hour and watched some podcast dailies. I got a coffee, ate some soba and taught two classes and wrote a ‘Letter to Nana‘ on the way home. Drank half a bottle of sake and 2 tall cans of Asahi while editing it. I don’t know how good it’s going to be since I’m too drunk to see/hear.

You never cease to intrigue.
