It is Monday 6.2.08 and it is raining.
I woke up early and talked to Jeannine all morning. I was pretty hung over from last night’s outing with the Toyohashi crew. Jeannine’s awesome and I’m always impressed/surprised by her. We had a really nice morning. By noon I met Peter and Darnell near their place, Keiko had offered us a ride to the Yamaha factory. Darnell had made plans to take a tour that day.
Factories are amazing, but I couldn’t help but sing Solidarity Forever the entire time we walked through. Yamaha’s Shizuoka factories have Zero Emissions and produce 60 to 70 pianos a day. They employ about 2500 people in Hamamatsu alone and are an essential part of the Hamamatsu economy. I’d like to write more about Yamaha, but I’m totally tired of writing for the day. I’d just like to remember it as a typical factory where good people work really fucking hard for probably not enough money.
We had lunch at the Denny’s nearby and I took a bus home while Peter and Darnell walked back to their place. I did some laundry and wrote a blog post, meeting Peter at 7pm to go the gym where we worked on arms and stomach and some cardio. It’s harder to go in the evenings because we’re stared at by all of the younger Japanese and Brazilian dudes. I wish I was able to blend in somehow.
Watching Big Love and trying to feel tired enough to sleep. My fixer comes in tomorrow, so hopefully this week I’ll process my first roll. I’m pumped.

lol…good on you brother aaron
