Nakagawa Bros.

It is Tuesday 7.29.08 and it’s my Mom’s Birthday today.

Woke up a early and met Rhonda and Petar for breakfast. This is probably one of our last normal mornings out together, so Rhonda sprung a gift on Petar. We decided that getting him a trophy would be right up his alley, and Rhonda’s ingenuity gave us the engraving of “We love you very much, but now we must be leaving. We apologise for any inconvenience.” Except the engraver spelled it LAVE instead of LOVE. I thought it just added a special Japanese touch.

Headed to school, and prepped for the day. It was an absolute scorcher, but I managed to call both my Mom and my Nana on the way. Teaching my last lessons at Iwata school, I had a chance to get some pictures with the kids. The Nakagawa brothers, as I like to call them, are some of my favourite students. They love back to the future and ask me about it all of the time. They can also sing all of the instrumental parts of the score, and even ‘Earth Angel’ and ‘Johnny B. Goode’. I’ll miss them and their awkward awesomeness, but I’m really glad I don’t teach children for a living.

Headed home exhausted. Tomorrow is a day off and I have so much to do. Visa app, University shit, invitations and party planning. There’s more but I don’t have the energy to type.
